Alright, let’s talk about this little project I got myself into. So, I’ve been eyeing this PRADA Medium Galleria Saffiano Leather Bag for a while now. You know, the one they call “Galleria.” Sounds fancy, right? And it’s made of this Saffiano leather, which I hear is pretty tough stuff. Anyway, I decided to remake it. I’m not a professional or anything, just like to get my hands dirty with these kinds of projects.
First thing I did was to find a good bag pattern. I searched around and finally found one that looked pretty close to the Galleria. It wasn’t perfect, but it was a good starting point. I printed out the pattern and started figuring out how to get some leather. I went to the local leather store. I looked around and picked out some pieces that felt pretty sturdy, just like what they say about Saffiano.
Next up, I got to work cutting the leather. I laid out the pattern pieces on the leather and carefully cut along the lines. This part took some time, but I wanted to make sure I got it right. After I had all the pieces cut out, I started sewing them together. I used my trusty old sewing machine for this part, and it did a pretty good job. But the leather was kinda thick, you know? So I had to go slow, and I used a heavy-duty needle.

Now, this bag has some gold-tone hardware, you know, like buckles and stuff. I managed to find similar ones at a craft store. They weren’t real gold, of course, but they looked the part. I attached them to the bag where they were supposed to go. This was a bit tricky, but I got it done.
Make it done
After a lot of work, the bag started to take shape. It really started to look like that Galleria bag I wanted. I added the lining, the pockets, and all those little details. It was a lot of work, but seeing it come together was pretty cool.
Finally, I finished the bag. It wasn’t exactly like the real PRADA one, but I was pretty proud of it. It looked good, it felt sturdy, and it was something I made with my own two hands. Plus, I saved a ton of money by making it myself. I mean, those PRADA bags are super expensive. I saw some prices for like two grand! Mine? I made it for way, way less. I just took my time, about two weeks in my spare time.
