Hey guys, you won’t believe what I did last week! So I got this wild hair to try and remake that super chic PRADA Re-Edition 1995 Chaine Re-Nylon Mini-Bag. Yeah, the one that’s like, way out of my budget but totally dreamy.

First off, I started digging around to figure out what this bag was all about. Found out it’s a remake of a ’95 design, made with this Re-Nylon stuff. Apparently, it’s recycled, which is pretty neat. I started watching a bunch of videos about it to get a real feel for the size and shape.

Next, I needed some Re-Nylon fabric, which is like this special kind of nylon that Prada uses. Luckily, I found some online that looked pretty similar. Then, I needed a chain, some zippers, and a few other bits and bobs. I hit up a few local fabric stores and managed to find most of what I needed. It was like a treasure hunt!

Once I had all my materials, I started working on the pattern. This was probably the trickiest part. I sketched out the basic shape of the bag and then started cutting out the fabric. I made a couple of mistakes, but nothing too serious. I kept at it, measuring and cutting, until I had all the pieces ready to go. This bag is known for its timeless charm and soft volumes.I really wanted to capture that.

Then came the sewing. I’m not the best at sewing, but I can get by. I started with the main body of the bag, stitching the pieces together carefully. I found a chain that was a good match, and then the zipper. It was a bit fiddly, but I managed to get it in there. Then I added the chain and the little details, like the triangular Prada logo. I ended up making that out of some scrap leather I had lying around.

Finally, after hours of work, it was finished! It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty proud of how it turned out. It really does look a lot like the real thing. I even took it out for a spin the other day, and I got a few compliments!

  • Used Re-Nylon fabric (or a close match)
  • Found a chain and zippers
  • Created a pattern and cut the fabric
  • Sewed the bag together
  • Added the chain, zipper, and logo

It was a fun little project, and I learned a lot about bag making. I found the RemakePRADA Re-Edition 1995 Bag at These Specialty Stores, but I wanted to do it by * I’ll try another designer bag next time. Any suggestions?
