So, I’ve been messing around with this idea of getting a Rolex GMT-Master II, the one with the “Pepsi” bezel. You know, the red and blue one? They’re pretty hot right now, and I wanted to see what the whole fuss was about without, well, spending a fortune.
First, I started looking around online. I mean, who doesn’t start with a quick search these days? I found out that the real deal, the Rolex GMT-Master II ref. 126710BLRO, is a big deal. Like, a really big deal. People are all over these watches, and they’ve been making fakes of them for years. So, I figured, why not try to find a decent fake and see what it’s like?
Finding the Right One
I dug a bit deeper and came across this thing called the “NOOB GMT Master II BLRO.” Apparently, it’s got this “Bezel Lip” that’s pretty close to the real one. There’s also something called “CF,” which is supposed to have a better movement. But the “Bezel Lip” thing got me hooked, so I decided to go with the NOOB.
Then I tried to locate a good one. There is a watch called the Ocean 39 Vintage GMT Premium Ceramic, it is swiss automatic and the case size is 39mm. It looks nice, but I’m not sure if it’s what I’m looking for.
Getting My Hands on It
I finally found a seller and placed an order. It wasn’t too expensive, around $19, which is way less than the real deal. I mean, the real Rolexes go for like thousands, and they even increase in value. It’s crazy! It makes sense, they know that with some of their watches they are not just providing you a watch but thousands of dollars as well in resell value. Anyway. I just wanted to see what it felt like to wear one, even if it wasn’t authentic.
After a bit of waiting, it finally arrived. I ripped open the package and there it was. It looked pretty good, I gotta say. The red and blue bezel was shiny, and the watch felt solid in my hand. Of course, it’s not a real Rolex, but for the price, I was impressed.
Wearing It Out
I started wearing it around, just to see how it felt. Honestly, it felt pretty cool. I caught a few people looking at my wrist, and I even got a couple of compliments. I didn’t tell anyone it was a fake, of course. I just let them think I was rocking a real Rolex.
My Thoughts
So, after wearing it for a while, what do I think? Well, it’s definitely a fun experience. It’s not the same as owning a real Rolex, I’m sure, but it’s a nice way to get a feel for the style without breaking the bank. Plus, it’s a good conversation starter. People are always curious about it.
Would I recommend it? If you’re just looking for a bit of fun and want to see what the Pepsi bezel hype is all about, then yeah, go for it. Just don’t expect it to be the same as the real thing. And remember, it’s always better to be honest about what you’re wearing.
- Pros:
- Looks pretty good for the price.
- It is a good conversation starter.
- Gets you the look without spending a fortune.
- Cons:
- It’s not a real Rolex.
- The quality might not be the best.
- You might feel a bit guilty wearing a fake.
Overall, it was a fun little experiment. I got to experience the “Pepsi” bezel without spending thousands, and I learned a bit about the world of fake watches. While Rolex has produced the GMT-Master II with a wide variety of different bezel * I do it again? Maybe. But for now, I’m happy with my little fake Rolex.
